The submission of 2009 French income tax returns in 2010
For non French tax residents
• You are the owner of a Leaseback property You need to submit the following tax forms :
- 2009 VAT return (form nb3517) and 2009 VAT payment before the 30th April 2010;
- 2009 annual furnished assets income tax return (form nb2031-2033) before the 30th April 2010;
- 2009 annual general return (form nb2042) and 2009 annual general furnished return (form n°2042C) before the end of June 2010(date to be set by the tax authorities).
• You are the owner of a French property that you rent FURNISHED (no leaseback scheme) You need to submit the following tax forms :
- 2009 annual furnished assets income tax return (form nb2031-2033) before the 30th April 2010;
- 2009 annual general return (form nb2042) and 2009 annual general furnished return (form nb2042C) before the end of June 2010 (date to be set by the tax authorities).
• You are the owner of a French property that you rent UNFURNISHED You need to submit the following tax forms :
- 2009 annual general return (form nb2042) and 2009 annual unfurnished rental return (form nb2044) before the end of June 2010 (date to be set by the tax authorities).
• You have French incomes to declare but you are not a French tax resident You have until the end of June 2010 to submit the necessary tax forms, depending on the type of incomes you have to declare.

Reminder
• Even if you did not receive any rental incomes in 2009, you still have the obligation to submit your 2009 French tax forms, especialy if you are owning a French leaseback property.
• If you have stopped your renting activity in 2009 (regular renting activity), you still need to submit a 2009 income tax return, which will be your last return to complete. If you are in this case, please contact us (as you will need to make a declaration saying you have stopped your activity).
• If you do not submit the necessary tax forms, the French tax administration will require the payment of fines. If the fines are not paid to the French tax administration, the latter has the right to seize your French bank account and/or your French property and its rental incomes ; in order to get back the money you owe the administration.
